Product Description
Auto Wata keeps the bowl full for pets outside watering needs. Connect the unit to a standard garden hose and let it go. The internal float stops the water flowing when the bowl is full and automatically fills it when low maintains constant level of water. Great for outdoor pets or multiple pets.

5 out of 5 stars Great Watering Bowl - Remember to get hose and/or connector!   July 19, 2008

This is a great product for a reasonable price. Important NOTE: Although it will connect to a garden hose, it might not connect to a "standard" garden hose because of the type of thread (female or male). This product works great with a TastePURE 22743 10' Reinforced RV Fresh Water Hose.

I also got Gilmour Brass 2-Way Connector, #13 so I can connect my "standard" garden hose to the facet as well.

5 out of 5 stars Never empty! Great invention!   July 24, 2007

I really like this product. I've been using the bowl for about a week and it really is cool. I have a Boxer and a mutt that share this bowl & even though it seems a bit small, it is never empty because it automatically refills. It has a float mechanism built-in like a swamp cooler, so it always stays at the right level & since it's connected by hose, the water is always fresh and cold. AWESOME!

5 out of 5 stars Maybe I'm lucky- no problems   March 2, 2008

I'm not sure if others just got a lousy bowl, or if I just happened to get one of the few good ones. But either way, I have been using mine for a month and there seems to be no problem. No leaking or anything. I am using a regular hose that I cut down and put a plastic type hose fixer on the end that attaches to the faucet(Walmart- 50 cents) and a quick connect fixture that connects to the bowl. So far it has not gotten scummy, but my dogs drink a lot. They are over 50 lbs. each. I also have it sitting on top of a bench and I keep the water turned very low, barely on.

5 out of 5 stars Easy and simple   July 15, 2008

So far this product has been great. Since it is still summertime, I can't say how it performs during freezing weather. I really like that it doesn't overflow like some other watering devices.

5 out of 5 stars Works great so far   September 24, 2008

It's nice to finally find an automatic pet waterer that doesn't require special plumbing or anything like that, and at such a reasonable price. I just screwed it onto the end of my garden hose, and that was that. It sure has saved me a lot of water-schlepping for one dog, four cats, and two chickens.

If you experience leaks like some of the other reviewers have, try making sure the hose-gasket is still inside the female threads on the waterer. I can well imagine this little rubber ring could fall out and get lost inside the packing material during shipment. (If you already threw the box away, hose gaskets are five for a buck at your local hardware store.)

I don't think I'll be using a Quick-connect device for mine, because I find that those need a lot of water-pressure to work properly, and I am keeping the water-pressure turned down rather low on the faucet I have this dish connected to. Works great so far, and it's nice not to have to worry about the critters having enough water in hot weather.
